Thespian adventures

So the girls finished The Scarlet Pimpernel on Friday - it was a great show - but as I wryly noted - is you have an unlimited budget and take a chunk of the school out of lessons for a term what do you expect! I still have a week of Oliver! to do now - 12 shows down 6 to go. I auditioned for Allo Allo today - apperently they liked my german accent. I put it down to playing the Security Officer in Colditz for too many years.

The trees here are stunning, reds and golds and today was sunny for a change - we have had REALLY heavy rain all week. I took the oppotunity to recycle (that is to cycle again) the Pirongia hill circuit - some 50km for either uphill or downhill (no flat). It was glorious today and from the top I could see the fresh snow on Mount Ruapeha (where we skied last year) which is a 3 hours drive away.

So enjoy your bank holiday - we have the 8th June off for the Queen's Birthday - just one of the quaint holidays we enjoy in the 'colonies'.

Chris' toe is on the mend after numerous doctor and hospital visits, still painful at the end of teh day but no crutches now.

One of Lana's friend from the UK is visiting us in June and we are using it as an excuse to explore large swathes of the South Island so I've been busily booking flights, cars, trains, boats and Youth Hostels so we can all enjoy a genuine 'kiwi tiki tour'. More later on.......

Sorry we've been so poor at blogging

With all the excitement of Chris' toe (which is still not great), and my uncle being here for a month we've rather let the blog go a bit. I'm also not sure how many people are reading it so if you are do drop us an email or add a comment and we'll get back into it........ Richard
