Tuesday 29 Queenstown, we hit the snow with Tom and Coleen...

Coronet Peak, we all managed to survive today. Chris made an Eddie the Eagle attempt off the edge of a steepish green run was fortunately slowed down by knocking over a small child...
Tom and Collen (see previous blogs) were superb tutors and managed to get all skiing by the end of the day.
Kiwi has learnt to drink a TimTam slammer and even Alex has been seen dunking her TimTam..

Heading south for the winter... text to follow...

Our first day in Queenstown.

Chris and the girls few down on Sunday whilst I pottered around the Kiwi Science and Natural History Museums in Auckland. On Monday Alex arrived after a marathon flight from London, we grazed in the lounge for a few hours and then headed south to Queenstown, an awesome flight across the Southern Alps and landing between the lake and the mountains. Lots of happy reunions at the arrivals hall.

We wasted no time in catching up with Tom and Collen (more friends who came here to see us) for a skating lesson followed by a trip up the gondala and a blast down the luge. Back to town to collect skis so we can have a day on the mountains on Tuesday.

Not surprisingly Alex went to sleep quickly...

Alex is on her way....

Lana's friend Alex has left Kineton and is heading for Heathrow airport.  We have packed our bags and head off early on Sunday morning for Chris and the girls to fly down to Queenstown.  I'll wait for for Alex to arrive on Monday and then we'll follow the girls down and have a huge Lana and Alex reunion at Queenstown Airport....

We are off on holiday...

Follow our South Island blog here over the next few weeks.....

OK so I know it isn't the West End version

Oliver! has finally finished. The 18th performance ended on Saturday and I have sung 'It;s Your Funeral' for the last time. Playing Mr Sowerberry the creepy undertaker was a real laugh and even though the girls thought I walked like a chicken I was commended for my creepy walk. And yes we did have two different Olivers!
I'd like to think that I will have a peaceful few weeks now but no - I am to play Herr Gruber the
camp Nazi officer in Allo Allo which is coming to Hamilton in late August......
Anyway thats enough about me - the girls are recovering from their superb production of the Scarlett Pimpernel and Chris is recovering well from her broken toe (see earlier posts). It is the 'Queens Birthday' piblic holiday here tomorrow - so like public holidays the world over it is teeming with rain here.
